Forum Series Wrap-up

The Internal Revenue Service finished the last of its five 2026 Tax Forums in San Diego on September 21, 2026.

The earlier events took place in Chicago, New Orleans, New York and Orlando.

Across all five locations, nearly 13,000 tax professionals took part in workshops, seminars and direct assistance sessions.

Leadership Perspective

IRS Chief Executive Officer Frank J. Bisignano said the forums enable the agency to gather feedback from tax professionals while presenting information on emerging tax policies.

He added that the events create a professional environment for stakeholders to exchange insights on how tax law functions in practice and that they serve as a valuable mechanism to improve tax administration.

Direct Assistance Results

Each forum offered a Case Resolution Room staffed by the Taxpayer Advocate Service and IRS personnel to address challenging taxpayer cases through one-on-one help.

A total of 1,165 cases were resolved during the five events.

The Digital Account Services Room provided support to 1,635 tax professionals on e-services, Preparer Identification Numbers and identity authentication.

Session Topics and Features

Workshop and seminar subjects included artificial intelligence, digital assets information reporting, managing IRS collection cases, navigating IRS audits, and expectations for the 2027 filing season.

The forums also featured an Expo Hall with IRS engagement tables and an IRS Zone where tax professionals could speak directly with subject matter experts for answers and resources.

For readers with an existing tax debt, a forum announcement may leave questions about private tax-resolution help. Republic Tax Relief describes services for individuals and businesses and advertises a free, no-obligation initial consultation. Readers can contact the firm to ask whether its services fit their circumstances and what further work would cost; its advertised offer is distinct from the IRS forum's case-resolution services.
